ESSPO - Efficient Support Services Portfolio for SME’s

The Poznań Science and Technology Park, together with eight partners from France, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria and Estonia, is implementing the ESSPO (Efficient Support Services Portfolio for SME's) project. Its aim is to develop an effective system of support for innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises. The project assumes cooperation with partners to develop and then pilot implementation of solutions adequate to the needs of each region (partner); e.g. development and launch of an accreditation system for service providers for SMEs or development of new services tailored to the needs of businesses.

Partners in the project are: • Wielkopolska (PL): Poznań Science and Technology Park of the Adam Mickiewicz University Foundation (project leader) • European Association of Development Agencies (consultative partner) • Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ES) • Municipality of Gabrovo (BG) • Applied Research and Communications Fund (BG) • Tartu Science Park Foundation (EE) • Tecnalia Research & Innovation Foundation (ES) • District of Hameln-Pyrmont (DE) • DEV’UP Centre-Val de Loire (FR)

The project will last until 31.03.2021.

The first three years of the project are devoted to the development of a comprehensive support system to meet the current needs of entrepreneurs. The last two years of the project will be devoted to monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the developed solutions.

Thanks to international cooperation, our region will gain:

• Access to knowledge and good practices (know how) of foreign partners in the field of regional development management, in relation to innovation, entrepreneurship and research and development;

• New, better solutions for regional policy instruments that can be adapted to their own needs, with first-hand information – from regions applying or planning to apply the given solutions;

• Obtaining external feedback on our practices. To conclude: The ESSPO aims to develop solutions that will: • develop support services for SMEs and adapt them to the current needs of enterprises

• identify diagnostic tools to ensure that support is properly tailored to the needs of enterprises

• be a combination of different types of support (financial, advisory, access to infrastructure, EU funds, etc.)

• ensure better coordination of activities of individual institutions in the process of enterprise support

• improve the quality of support for SMEs The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg Europe programme.
